Contrasts of Baikal: Life at one of the world’s most beautiful lakes

The lake Baikal is not only mighty and great, but also it is very many-sided. Baikal is a wonderful place, but sometimes it might be harsh and people who live on the lake know it very well. Man has been living here for a long time though, but the lake and its nature are still much stronger. People live on the lake’s shores while Baikal lets them do that.

This is one of small villages located on the lake. People live there with no recent technologies, modern computers or the internet. Their main occupation is hunting and fishing; also they lease rooms to tourists in the summer time.
