God-forsaken: Abandoned churches and cathedrals of Russia

There is a huge amount of abandoned and ruined Orthodox churches and cathedrals all around Russia (basically in villages and rural areas) which will never be renovated for different reasons. Once magnificent holy places are now unfortunately the God-forsaken. But still somehow people visit some of them, pray, and even light candles in spite of everything.

We tried to collect the most exciting photos of abandoned churches in Russia and here it is.
